Starbucks Relativity

As being fellow Barista in the Starbucks Golden Chain there is a few things in which I get annoyed about when people talk about Starbucks. This is to defend the chain of store I work in (Fair enough I think), things said like Costa or Coffee #1 is better . Well as it says in the name, Costa 'costs' a lot more than Starbucks and Coffee #1 is just a very small chain of coffee shop, doesn't account for.

Although one of very few things I do agree with about Starbucks is that there are flipping loads of them around. In Cardiff, I can count at least 10 possibly more, but defending them again, it does provide the service to customers of wherever you go there will always be a Starbucks near. And looking on that Wide Web I did come across a very funny, possibly factual and defiantly amusing (certainly the caption below the image) picture summing up what one thing about Starbucks.

The worst time.

Sometimes people do somethings at the worst times, like buying a DVD and then the next day it goes on sale. But it's worse when you do it for a good reason. So why does it have to happen to me.
Recently, being good, I have given up for lent the thing I crave the most, Starbucks. I am a lover of Starbucks having my Frappuccinos, Lattes and everything else. So being good I thought that it would be something good to give up for lent. Well what a stupid thing to do.
Since I have been on lent, Starbucks in total have sent me three letters giving me vouchers and a free sample of their new Instant coffee andin inviting me to a Starbucks store and doing a taste test then getting a free drink. And on top of that they have introduced a new key chain sized Starbucks card.
Now their are a few conclusions which I have come to from this. One, someone somewhere is really really testing me ( I think you know who I mean). Two, that I really have Starbucks way to often to even say that the couple of years ago when I gave up Chocolate, Sweets and Biscuits, it was easier than giving up Starbucks. And last the moment it is Easter I will be in a Starbucks drinking my lovely Frappuccino once and for all.
And thinking of the day Jesus resurrected

Starview

On Wednesday I had a job interview at Starbucks Queen St (the one next to Sainburys). Being my first job interview I had no idea what to expect but what I did experienced was nothing of what I thought it would be. When I got the application form a few days ago I was told to be there at 5:00. I got the earily bus at 4:15 so I wouldn't be late and in result I was earily (as I thought) so went a did something else and the something else took 5 minuts so I thought I would just wait. Well wait is what I did.

If you have ever been in the Starbucks next to Sainsburys you would know that there are two floors. The stairs going to the upstairs, well there was a line from the top to the bottom of the stairs when I got there. Stupid me, the one thing which didn't occur to me when I got the application form was the sign which sad that it would be an OPEN job interview. Although I found that out I still wasn't happy when I had to wait for an hour to be seen when I got off the stairs. However at the same time I was amused to see the site of how many people must have gone into the Starbucks on that day and seen that there were jobs going and watching them fill out the application forms. HA HA, get prepared.

Supprisingly I wasn't really neverous and when I got called, it just went better. The interviewer was really impressed with my CV, and I was glad to hear that the job was not just for that one store but for all the Starbucks in Cardiff plus 2 more opening in St Daivds 2. But all in all It went really well. And when I finsihed, the line to be seen was quite far outside the door. Open job interview from 5:00 - 7:00, it sure seemed to be Starbucks first time in doing the open job interviews as they must have been ther as least 2 hours more with the amount of people who were there. Or could have stopped interviewing people at 7:00, I would really liked to know what they did. But sadly my chances of getting a job are a bit slim, but at the same time high as the interviewer was impressed. They said that they would let me know if I have or not got the job within 72 hours.

And now I have to play the waiting game for one more day now.

What, no way.

It has been a really surprising week, well so far, after a total of 2 day. But at the same time good.

1) On Monday, I had a surprising phone call saying if I want to go out shopping (without any money) and to the park (the park turned into a house). After 45 minutes shopping, We headed back as it looked like it was going to raining. We got to my friend, Emyr's house at 2:30 and played on the PS3 and the next time we looked at the time, amazingly it was 6:30. A very good day to start the week. When we went, we then said that we would should meet up for Dinner tomorrow.

2) Then today we meet up at Ty Glas as planned at Llanishen. And what an amazing meal, 10oz Gammon Steak with Chips and two Eggs. Also there is no Dinner complete in a restaurant without having a Desert. A Chocolate Cheese Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream drizzled in Hot Chocolate source. And on the odd occasion another Desert (ish). My favourite place in Cardiff was right next door and I wasn't going away where without having a STARBUCKS. As I was nearly full from dinner, I choose a Tall Carmel LIGHT Frappuccino.

3) And to finish off the day having fun, My Sister in Law invited me and my brothers over to have a Wii night. Now the Nintendo Wii isn't the best console ever but it is better than sitting at home doing nothing. And when playing it you come up with so many things which you can tell people who have one why it's Crap.

As I am on my Summer Holidays it seems like the days are going like the speed of light. I rest until 12:00 and try and do something after that, unless other things come my way. Eating my food I thought that I have had a Crap week and have done absolutely nothing. Then about 5 minutes later I realized I have done stuff all week and that it is only Tuesday Stupid.

When you get out of your weekly routine, your head goes everywhere in the week. No church or youth club signals the end of the week and not going to church, well it really seems like I am having a 14 day week.

Sadly, I have nothing else to do this week, hopefully something else will surprise me. The only thing I have to look forward to is getting the 'Green Day' Album '21st Century Break up.' IT BEST COME.

Down and Around Cardiff Bay.

There is always something to do down the Bay or something going on. Our intentions of going to the Logos 2 ship was diverted when we saw something happening down in the Roald Dahl Plass. As always when there is something happening down the Bay then you are guaranteed to not get a space and drive around of 10 minutes looking of one (we ended parking on the pavement).

Taking a look at what was happening, we soon discovered that it was the Eisteddfod. Approaching the entrance we were told to pay £10 to enter on additional fees to do things inside or come back at four o'clock (when it's ending) to enter for free. So a perfect way to waste time is to go to the welsh cake shop and buy fresh welsh cakes and eat them with your favourite Starbucks. How this takes an hour to do I have no idea.

Well after four o'cock heading down to take a look at the Eisteddfod and when we were down there, there was nothing to take a look at. Nothing interesting down there at all so a quick rush up and a run down to the exit. So advice when going down Cardiff Bay is know what you are paying for before you choose to pay for it.
